How do you feel you can steer the conversation towards the points of interest you expressed in our talk? You mentioned how your critiques always seem to take the same direction. What could you do (aside from making different work) to promote the dialogue you feel is lacking? Do you think some pointed questions could solve this problem?
You mentioned your drawings are either precursors to your sculptural work, or something completely unrelated. Could there be a stronger bridge between your 2D and 3D work? This is something I’m working on myself, I’m starting to find that my drawings can fill in the blanks of my sculptures. Have you thought about making some standalone drawings that stem from your 3D work?
You mentioned there is a level of craft to your work that you cannot escape from. Things need to look a certain way in order for you to be satisfied. Could breaking from this consistency and pushing the limits of your patience help you better understand why you work this way? How clean and how sloppy could you go before you feel disconnected from the work?
